Trio David
Trio David was formed in 2020 out of the dedication of three young musicians to chamber music research and their desire to discover and explore an original repertoire such as that for string trio.
The Trio has performed in major Italian concert seasons, including those organised by the William Walton Foundation, the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, the Festival delle Nazioni, the Filarmonica Umbra, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, the Portogruaro International Music Festival, the Sesto Rocchi Festival and the Amici della Musica di Padova. Trio David has also taken part in the concerts organised by the Fondazione Accademia Internazionale di Imola in the Sala Mariele Ventre, both as a trio and in a quartet with Alessandro Taverna.
The Trio has been invited to cultural events such as the Festivaletteratura, where it engaged in dialogue through musical performances with the poet Ruth Padel on the book Beethoven Variations. The Trio has collaborated with the University of Padua, performing in the Sala dei Giganti as part of a lecture on Modernism within the ‘Essere a Tempo’ festival.
Trio David has performed at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on World Water Day 2024. In the same year, they performed the world premiere of Nicola Campogrande’s Urban Gardens (version for piano quartet) alongside pianist Claudio Bonfiglio, as part of the Summer Festival of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana.
In 2023, Trio David was chosen by CIDIM and the Accademia degli Sfaccendati for the “Wolf-Ferrari Project,” thanks to which they recorded the complete works for string trio by the Italian-German composer for Brilliant Classics label.
For the same label, they also recorded Ferdinand Ries' quartets for flute and strings with Ginevra Petrucci. In 2025, the Trio recorded Brahms' Piano Quartet Op. 60 with pianist Giulia Zampieri as part of the “Brahms Project,” conceived and promoted by the Fondazione Accademia Internazionale di Imola in collaboration with the record label 2R Digital Classics.
Again in collaboration with CIDIM, as part of the “Young Musical Talents in the World” project, Trio David made his international debut at the Liszt Institute in Zagreb, the Center for Contemporary Arts in Ankara, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Istanbul.
In January 2025, the Trio was a guest on Rai Radio 3's program “La Stanza della Musica”, in an episode hosted by composer Nicola Campogrande.
Following their victory in one of the special prizes of the 2025 Filippo Nicosia Award, Trio David was selected by Maestro Simone Gramaglia (Quartetto di Cremona) to join the “Dimore del Quartetto” international network.
